Iron Forge Course

The Penn National Iron Forge Course is a perfect complement to the traditional Founders Course. Iron Forge is a modern and contemporary design. Architect Bill Love let the land itself fit the golf course. The bentgrass fairways are generous giving you the chance to "grip it and rip it" on nearly every hole. The greens are large and fast, and require a good eye to read correctly. Bunkers are well-placed, and water hazards come in to play on four holes. Iron Forge is maintained in tournament condition every day. The variety of terrain offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Directions to Iron Forge at Penn National Golf Club

From Washington

  • Travel north on I-270 to Exit 32 west, I-70 toward Hagerstown.
  • Go west on I-70 to Exit 35 north, Rt. 66 toward Smithburg.
  • Turn right on Rt. 64 east. Rt. 64 becomes Rt. 997 at the Pennsylvania State line.
  • Follow Rt. 997 through Waynesboro, north past Mont Alto to Penn National on the left.
  • Approximate travel time is 90 minutes.

From Harrisburg, Pa. and North

  • Travel south on I-81 to Exit 8 south, Rt. 997.
  • Proceed south on Rt. 997, 9 miles to Penn National on the right.
  • Approximate travel time from Harrisburg is 60 minutes.
